VI Mas-Wrestling World Championship (men, women)

REGULATIONS ON HOLDING

VI WORLD MAS-WRESTLING CHAMPIONSHIP 

I. Aims and objectives

The 2024 World Championship (hereinafter World Championship) is the official competition of the International Mas-wrestling Federation, is held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:

- determination the strongest world mas-wrestling athletes;

- improvement of athletes sportsmanship;

- strengthening friendly sporting relationship among countries.  

II. Date and venue

The World Championship is held from November 28 to December 2 of 2024 in Bishkek, Kyrgyz Republic on address: Togolok Moldo Street 40, Sport Palace named after Kabaa uulu Kozhomkul.

Arrival day – November 28, departure day – December 2, 2024.

III. Management

General management of preparation and holding of World Championship is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Mas-wrestling Federation of Kyrgyz Republic, Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyz Republic, Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary, World Mas-Wrestling Center.

Direct responsibility of holding the event carried on the Organizing Committee on holding and preparation World Mas-wrestling Championship and Ground Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation. 

IV. Participation terms and Conditions for holding competitions

The World Championship is held in four categories:

1. Among men and women: aged of 18 and over;

Weight categories:

- men: 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg and 125+ kg;

- women: 55 kg, 65 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg and 85+ kg.

Competitions are of a personal-team nature and are held according to the current rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

In the weight category up to 125 kg among men will be established a special prize «We remember and proud», in memory of one of the founders of the development of mas-wrestling in the Republic of Kyrgyzstan, Excellent of Physical Culture and Sports, Master of Sports of the USSR in sambo Erkin Tezekbaev.

2. Among men and women in the absolute weight category: aged of 18 and over:

Minimal weight of athletes among men – 90 kg, among women – 70 kg.

Competitions are of a personal nature and are held according to the current rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation. Depending on the number of participants the competition system will be determined according to the competition rules.

3. Among boys and girls: aged of under 18 (2006-2008s);

The age of athletes determines by date of birth on the competition day. Athletes of 2009s year and under are not allowed to participate.

Weight categories:

- boys – up to 50 kg, up to 60 kg, up to 70 kg, up to 80 kg, 80+ kg;

- girls – up to 50 kg, up to 60 kg, up to 70 kg, 70+ kg.

Competitions are of a personal-team nature and are held according to the current rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

4. Among men-veterans and women-veterans: aged of 40 and over (1983 y.b. and over);

On the day of the competition the age of athletes must be 40 year or older.

Weight categories:

- men-veterans – 65 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 85+ kg;

- women-veterans – 65 kg, +65 kg.

Competitions are of a personal-team nature and are held according to the current rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation. 

V. Systems of holding competitions

Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories in the competition system, changes are possible according to the competition rules:

− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";

− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;

− for 2 or 1 athlete in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category. 

VI. Special conditions

The National Mas-Wrestling Federations have the right to submit for participation:

1. World Championship among men and women: up to 28 (twenty-eight) athletes, but no more 3 (three) athletes in a weight category.

National Mas-wrestling Federation of Kyrgyz Republic is entitled to be represented up to 17 (seventeen) athletes: 4 (four) athletes in the weight category up to 125 kg among men, and no more 2 (two) athletes in 3 (three) weight categories among men and in 2 (two) weight categories among women.

All-Russian Mas-wrestling Federation is entitled to be represented up to 14 (fourteen) athletes, but no more 1 (one) athlete in a weight category.

2. World Championship among boys and girls: up to 18 (eighteen) athletes, but no more 3 (three) athletes in a weight category.

3. World Championship among men and women in the absolute weight category: up to 6 (six) athletes, but no more 3 (three) athletes in a category.

4. World Championship among men-veterans and women-veterans: number of participants is not limited;

5. The competitions for boys and girls are held on a 24 cm high jamb board;

6. Allowed to participate athletes passed medical examination and permitted to engage in power sports by the application of the National Mas-wrestling Federations or authorized bodies.

7. The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form to be provided in 2 (two) weeks after the World Championship is over. 

VII. Conditions for determination of winners

World Championship among men and women, among boys and girls, among men-veterans and women-veterans are of a personal-team nature and held according to the current rules of the International Mas-wrestling Federation.

The team total is displayed according to the winning medals system divided into three categories:

1. Men and women;

2. Boys and girls;

3. Men-veterans and women-veterans.

Scoring: 1st place – 12 points, 2nd place – 8 points, 3rd place – 5 points. In case of equal points among two or more teams, priority is determined by most number of 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc. places. 

VIII. Equipment and inventory requirements:

The equipment of the participants of the championship must comply with the requirements of Article 5 of the current International Mas-wrestling Rules.

For all athletes of the World Championship: boys and men - red or blue color mas-wrestling shorts with the inscription «Mas-wrestling».

For girls and women - red or blue color mas-wrestling shorts and sports shirt (T-shirt or top) with the inscription «Mas-wrestling». Inscriptions with names of other sports are not allowed. The mixing of colors, red top and blue shorts or vice versa is forbidden.

Sports equipment may only be marked in accordance with Annexes 9, 10, 11 and 12 of the current International Mas-wrestling Rules.

Coaches and corner-men who take the athletes to the platform must be dressed in a sports uniform with the symbol of the country represented by the athlete.

By the decision of the Chief Referee of the championship and on the recommendation of the competition doctor when the athlete has a trauma to the palm with bleeding, it is allowed to use handcuffs not exceeding the width and height of the athlete’s palm. It is forbidden to use any foreign liquid substances for the treatment of palm-arms, it is must have a dry surface. 

IX. Financing and reception conditions

All costs connected with the preparation and holding of World Championship, under the terms of the equity, carry the International Mas-wrestling Federation, Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyz Republic, Mas-wrestling Federation of Kyrgyz Republic, Directorate on non-Olympic Sports, Physical Culture and Sports Department under the Ministry of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyz Republic, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center» and Mas-Wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-Wrestling».

The costs of sending participants of the VI World Mas-wrestling Championship (travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, visa costs) are carry by the sending organizations 

X. Awarding

Top three athletes in each weight category to be awarded with medals, diplomas, and valuable prizes.

Top three team to be awarded with diplomas and cups. 

XI. Visa

Delegations, which are needed VISA for entrance and stay on the territory of Kyrgyz Republic, should send to the organizers a list of participants until October 1, 2024 for visa processing, indicating full names, gender, passport numbers (also their dates of issue and validity), dates of birth, a scanned copy of the first informative page of the passport.

To the commission for admission of participants shall be presented a national flag of the country (size 100x150 cm in a vertical position), the state anthem in a shortened version (1 verse and refrains) on an electronic medium, nominal and technical applications, signed by the head of the National Mas-wrestling Federation and the doctor, as well as the original documents for each athlete:

- passport, certifying the nationality of the participant or a representing country’s residence permit;

- life and health insurance policy against accidents (original).

14.00 – 17.00 – weigh-in and drawing of participants:

men: 60 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 75 kg, 80 kg, 90 kg, 105 kg, 125 kg and 125+ kg;

17.30 – 18.30 – meeting of the Ground Jury with coaches and team representatives.
