REGULATION

on holding 2025 World Mas-wrestling Championship

among veterans in the category Masters – I 

Aims and objectives

2025 World Mas-wrestling Championship among veterans in the category Masters – I (hereinafter World Championship) is the official competition of the International Mas-wrestling Federation and held to promote and develop mas-wrestling in the world and solves the following tasks:

- determination the strongest mas-wrestling athletes;

- improvement of sportsmanship of athletes;

- promotion of active sports longevity;

- strengthening friendly sporting relationship among countries.

Date and venue

The World Championship is held on April 25-28, 2025 in Tskaltubo, Georgia on address: 3, Shota Rustaveli Street, Sport complex.

Arrival days – April 24-25, departure days – April 27-28. 

Competition Program: *

April 24-25 (Thursday, Friday) – arrival days;

April 25 (Friday) 

09.00 – 13.00 – work of commission on registration and admission of participants;

14.00 – 15.00 – weigh-in and drawing of participants;

15.30 – 16.30 – meeting of the Ground Jury with team representatives;

April 26 (Saturday) – competition day

09.00 – 17.00 – preliminary matches:

14.30 – 15.30 – opening ceremony of Championship

17.00 – 18.30 – semifinal and final matches;

18.30 – 19.30 – awarding ceremony of winners and prize-winners of Championship.

April 27-28 (Sunday, Monday) – departure days

*Changes are possible in the Program. 

Management

General management of preparation and holding of World Championship is carried out by the International Mas-wrestling Federation, National Mas-wrestling Federation of Georgia, ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center», State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary».

Direct responsibility of holding the competition carried on the Ground Jury, approved by the International Mas-wrestling Federation. 

Participation terms

Allowed to participate athletes of 1985 years and older. Age is determined by year of birth. Athletes must have an original certificate of medical examination that permit to engage in power sports and application from the National Mas-wrestling Federation or authorized body.

The National Federations are entitled to be represented up to 27 (twenty-seven) athletes, but no more than 4 (four) athletes in a weight category.

National federations are recommended to include in their delegation a referee of the corresponding referee’s category to work as part of the judging panel of the competition.

Participants are required to perform in sportswear No.1 or No.3 in accordance with the International Rules of Mas-wrestling.

Weighing procedure to be held the day before of competition. 

Conditions for holding competition and determination of winners

Competitions are of individual nature and are held according to the current 2025 International Mas-wrestling Rules.

Weight categories:

- men-veterans: 65 kg, 75 kg, 85 kg, 95 kg, 95+ kg;

- women- veterans: 60 kg, 65 kg, 75 kg, 75+ kg. 

Depending on the number of participants in the weight categories in the competition system changes are possible according to the competition rules:

− for 7 or more athletes in the weight category according to the system with elimination after two defeats, divided into groups "A" and "B";

− for 6, 5, 4 or 3 athletes in a weight category, a round robin system is used;

− for 2 or 1 athlete in a weight category, the weight category is added to the next weight category.

Participants grant organizers a right to take a photo, to film or otherwise use their
voice, appearance and name. Further, the content can be displayed, distributed or otherwise
used in merchandising and advertising to promote the sport in any media now known and
possible in the future. The rights to be granted indefinitely and without additional
compensation.

The final results (protocols) on paper and electronic form should be given in 2 (two) weeks after the sports event is over. 

Insurance

Participation in the competitions is allowed only in case of presence of life and health insurance against accidents (original) for each participant, which is submitted to the commission for registration and admission of participants.

Insurance fees of athletes carry the sending organizations. 

Safety

Competitions to be held in sport buildings, agreeable to the standards of corresponding standard rules of law, functioning in the territory of Georgia and directed to provide public order and safety of participants and spectators.

The organizer provides the presence of qualified medical personnel during the World Championship.

Awarding

Top three athletes in each weight category to be awarded with medals, diplomas. 

Financing

All costs connected with preparation and holding of competition, under the terms of equity, carry the International Mas-wrestling Federation, National Mas-wrestling Federation of Georgia, State Budgetary Institution of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) «Republican Center of National Sports named after Vasiliy Manchaary», ANO «World Mas-wrestling Center» and Mas-Wrestling Development Fund «Planet Mas-Wrestling».

The costs of sending participants of the World Championship (travel, accommodation, meals, insurance, visa costs) are carry by sending organizations. 

Expenses of the Mas-wrestling Federation of Georgia:

Transfer organization from the International airport of Tbilisi and Kutaisi to Tskaltubo and back of members of the national teams of the World Championship.

To the Commission for admission of participants should be provided the national flag of the country (100x150 cm in a vertical position), the short variation of national anthem (1 verse and refrain) on electronic media, nominal and technical applications signed by the head of the national mas-wrestling federation and a doctor, as well as originals of the following documents for each athlete:

- passport, or other document certifying the citizenship of the participant;

- life and health insurance against accidents (original). 

Visa

Delegations of countries that require a VISA to stay in Georgia must send a list of participants with comprehensive information to the organizers in advance until March 3. 

Marketing and advertising

The Organizing Committee guarantees maintenance of Sponsor rights by the partners and sponsors of the International Mas-wrestling Federation, appointed in the appropriate Agreements. 

Media

The Organizing Committee guarantees accordance of the appropriate conditions of work on the event for accredited media representatives in accordance with the Statement of the International Mas-wrestling Federation on Mass-Media. 

This Regulation is the official challenge to the competition.
