On October, 2 Russian Absolute Mas-Wrestling Championship among men and women was held in the city of Yekaterinburg.
14 men and 6 women from 12 Russian regions competed.

It was a qualifying stage for participation in the World Absolute Mas-Wrestling Championship which Odd Haugen and IMWF will organize in March in city of Columbus, USA.
According Regulations of the Russian Absolute Mas-Wrestling Championship the winners have now a right to go to USA and compete for a title of the strongest mas-wrestler of the world. By the way, all their expenses will be paid by the Russian Mas-Wrestling Federation.
In addition three men, who won the 2nd and two 3 places, and one woman, who won the 2nd place, also can compete in Columbus, but at their own expense.
