Viktor Kolibabchuk and Anniina Vaaranmaa are the European mas-wrestling absolute champions in 2019
Today mas-wrestling united Bulgaria, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine. The sons and daughters of these European countries took to the mas-wrestling stage in the capital of Latvia in order to win the title of the strongest, most enduring, most intelligent athlete in a new kind of sports, which is gaining popularity all over the world.
The President of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation, Mr. Alexander Akimov, addressed the participants in the Latvian, English, Yakut and Russian languages at the opening ceremony of the championship. In his welcoming speech, he noted the peacemaking mission of mas-wrestling, the importance of sports meetings of representatives of different peoples and denominations.
Competitions were held in the open air. Frankly speaking, weather conditions were not very favorable. In the morning the sky was dragged by gray clouds, a cool wind blew, it seemed that rain was about to charge. But, despite the vagaries of the weather, all participants went to the start. And at the appointed time, serious passions began to boil in the competitive area of the Lido complex.
With the support of the local public, Latvian athletes loudly declared themselves. Popovs Maksims and Svike Jolanta eventually became bronze medalists of the championship. Third places were also taken by Peter Puha from Slovakia and Svetlana Tikhonova from Russia. Silver among men was won by Sylka Oleh (Ukraine), among women - David Vanessza (Hungary).
The most titled Russian mas-wrestler Victor Kolibabchuk and the current world mas-wrestling champion Vaaranma Anniina from Finland became triumphant of the championship.
The prize fund was provided by the partner of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation - JSC "Railways of Yakutia".
