Alexander Akimov: Sincere thanks to the winners!
Today, the entire civilized world celebrates the 75th anniversary of the end of the bloodiest war in the history of mankind.
On behalf of the Council of Federation Committee on federal structure and International Mas-Wrestling Federation, I warmly congratulate you on the great holiday - Victory Day!
The Second World War has not spared any family in our country. Therefore, even after three quarters of a century, May 9 remains for many a very personal holiday. In each family, this date is celebrated in its own way. This year, unfortunately, we can’t be together on this holy event.
Years have passed generations have passed too. Someone is trying to replace the truth about those tragic and victorious events - someone has an advantage in changing history in their own way. But we will remember the exploits of our countrymen.
Yakutia sent her sons to defend the Motherland. Over 62,000 Yakutians left their families and homes. More than 39,000 soldiers of these died on the battlefields. They were known as excellent snipers, skilful scouts, gallant gunners, tankers and pilots.
For their heroism, more than 2,300 Yakutian soldiers were awarded orders and medals. Twenty-four of them were awarded the high title of Hero of the Soviet Union.
In those harsh years, the victory was fought by people of different nationalities from different countries. All united against the enemy. I’m glad we can be friends and respect each other these days.
We are strong in our spirit of friendship and understanding. I am convinced that sport, our favorite Mas-Wrestling, will continue to be the basis for such a relationship! it’s all ahead!
Be healthy and happy, as our heroic grandfathers dreamed!
Urui – Aikhal! Urui – Tuskul!
