The Minister of Sports of Yakutia Innokenty Grigoriev held a meeting on the preparation of international mas-wrestling events
It must be noted that this year the International Mas-Wrestling Federation held all its planned events, except for those that were canceled in countries due to restrictions at the government level. The year was increasingly difficult for the organizers, but we managed to hold several international events and stages of the Mas-Wrestling World Cup in the most severe conditions. They were postponed in dates and places and eventually took place in Uzbekistan and Turkey. It was worth the nerve, but we nailed it. The third final stage also threatened to become the end of our hopes after its cancellation in Russia. But our friends again gave us a shoulder. It was our great friend - Juha-Vesa Yantti.
But let's start fr om the beginning.
Arnold Mokhov, the current Secretary General of the organization, informed about the preparation and holding of the III (final) stage of the Mas-Wrestling World Cup and the Mas-Wrestling World Absolute Championship in Pyhtää, Finland.
Let us remind you that the new place and dates for the next international competitions were determined at an emergency meeting of the Presidium of the IMWF on October 26 this year under the leadership of our helmsman Alexander Akimov. Taking this opportunity, we congratulate the leader of the world mas-wrestling on his birthday and wish you further achievements for the benefit of our common goal - to include mas-wrestling in the program of the Olympic Games!
The regulations of both competitions were agreed and signed by both parties on October 30 and that day all countries, wh ere national mas-wrestling federations operate, received it.
Twelve countries have submitted preliminary applications for participation: Benin, Hungary, Kyrgyzstan, Latvia, Pakistan, Russia, Slovakia, USA, Uzbekistan, Ukraine, Uruguay, Finland. At this time, all participants who need an entry visa receive invitations fr om the Finnish side.
Seven men (Tamas Delhi and Alex Vero - Hungary, Peter Puha - Slovakia, Viktor Kolibabchuk and Sergey Frolkin - Russia, Christopher Smith and Adam Turner - USA) and seven women (Annika Karhu - Finland, Aizhan Anarbekova and Dildora Rakhmanova - Kyrgyzstan, Kristina Kochesokova and Svetlana Tikhonova - Russia, Yana Vashkova - Slovakia, Olga Sukach – Ukraine) claim absolute primacy. Deadline for submission of applications - December 1. Sponsor of the World Mas-Wrestling Championship among the strongest is Yakutia Railways - constant and reliable partner of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation.
The President of the Finnish Mas-Wrestling Federation Juha-Vesa Jantti lived with the hope of gathering mas-wrestlers fr om all over the world during the entire period of the pandemic. For this, he built and equipped a gym, as well as a small room for visiting athletes. Now he is inspired by the organization of prestigious international competitions in his favorite sport in his hometown. In a very short time, he found a wonderful venue that we hope everyone will like. The costs of renting the premises, wh ere the protocol events will also take place - meetings of the IMWF Presidium and Conferences, are borne by the local municipality. It is not surprising, since big sport is no stranger to the leader. The head of the Pyhtää municipality, Jouni Eho, is a world-class basketball player.
On arrival, sports delegations, regardless of vaccination, will take a PCR test at the airport building free of charge. Please be informed that during a pandemic in Finnish hotels, vaccinated and unvaccinated guests are temporarily separate. Participants inside the town will also move apart. But on the territory of our events, we will be together, observing all precautions.
To comply the social distance, the spectator area will be on the second floor, from wh ere the view of what is happening on the platform will be excellent. A unique multifunctional sports facility was selected for the matches. However, we will not reveal all the surprises that our "Santa" Juha-Ves has prepared. He promises that this will be an exceptional event in the life of every mas-wrestler who comes to his homeland.
Next year, the Ysyakh national holiday will be held in the Us Khatyn area not far from the capital of the republic. Mas-wrestlers from all over the world will be its guests. They will arrive in Yakutsk to participate in the Mas-Wrestling World Championship at the already familiar Triumph sports complex. These days, someone will really become a triumphant, and someone will not. But there will be no losers for sure, because the organizers are preparing something grandiose, because all the events next year are dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of our northern republic. But this is also a big, big secret.
The meeting was held in working mode. Minister Innokenty Grigoriev outlined the upcoming world events in mas-wrestling with large strokes, and the participants in the meeting pledged to begin its detailed implementation.
