1: 0 for the benefit of Europe at the Mas-Wrestling World Cup in Istanbul
The opening ceremony was very colorful. Before the parade of athletes, a large group of people in national costumes entered the hall. These were the musicians of the «Mechter» military-historical brass band. They brought a special Turkish flavor to the hall. By the way, this orchestra that represents the Republic of Turkey at the famous annual Spasskaya Tower festival on Red Square.
The parade of participants was led by an international refereeing team headed by Yegor Ermolaev. Vice-President of the World Confederation of Ethnosport Hakan Kazandzhi welcomed everyone on behalf of the host - the organizer:
"The World Ethnosport Confederation is an international organization whose main goal is to protect and promote traditional sports and games. To ensure that traditional sports are not forgotten and lost, our Confederation holds many different events, such as festivals, forums, academic research, joint projects with member organizations and stakeholders in the field of ethnosport.
We include Mas Wrestling in all of our ethnosport culture festivals and school ethnosport events. We try to contribute to the spread of this sport in Turkey. Today we are holding the Mas-Wrestling World Cup. In this context, we are very pleased to see the development and spread of the unique Yakut mas-wrestling in the international community through various events.
I would also like to thank the International Mas-Wrestling Federation for organizing the Mas-Wrestling World Cup in Istanbul. I invite all our people to the event and wish success to all athletes".
We have never been so favored by the attention of so many cameras. Filmed from all possible angles. There was even a crane and the projected pictures on the huge screen were more than good. Slow-motion replays, accents on the most interesting moments, showing the audience and participants in close-up could not but delight the eye.
From our side, a live broadcast was organized, let's say thanks to Maxim Sukhanov for this opportunity.
A beautiful podium was built for the awards ceremony. The awards were unique as always. There are even three medals for each winner - one for the World Cup stage, another for the European Mas-Wrestling Championship and the third with the logo of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation in honor of the decade anniversary.
This evening, under the arches of the huge hall, the majestic melodies of the anthems of three European countries: Russia, Slovakia and Ukraine floated.
