Mas-wrestling unites students from different countries
Egypt, Turkmenistan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Colombia, Uzbekistan, India, Indonesia, Tajikistan, Congo, Kyrgyzstan, Iraq, Morocco and Syria can be happy for future doctors, dentists, programmers - they will bring home not only knowledge in their specialty, but and skills in a new sport.
These competitions of the international format were collectively approved on December 17 at the Conference of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation in Finnish Pyhtaa in order to involve students fr om different countries studying in secondary and higher educational institutions in mas-wrestling. As you know, one of our tasks is to educate the youth of the world in the spirit of tolerance and commitment.
After the World Festival of Youth and Students in Sochi in 2017, wh ere a large-scale presentation work on mas-wrestling was held and we saw the interest in it with our own eyes, the idea arose to unite the youth of the whole planet around our sport. As a result, the World Student League "Mas-Wrestling Universe" was created, which is based within the walls of the Chuvash State University. Today's event can be considered a legacy of the Youth Festival of the entire planet.
On the eve of the World Mas-Wrestling Championship in June 2022, we began work on the selection, preparation and formation of national teams fr om among the strongest foreign students. By attracting them we set the goal not just an arithmetic increase in the number of countries participating in the World Championship, but work for the future in the hope that graduates will take home the acquired skills in this sport and will contribute to its development in their countries.
The concept of "students" implies an active life position, openness and easy perception of new skills and knowledge. By teaching students from around the world, we are introducing mas-wrestling abroad without the problems that have arisen today associated with crossing borders. In essence, this is an investment in the future of mas-wrestling.
A reasonable question may arise that almost all students from abroad study in specialties far from sports. But we know that the vast majority of students outside of school are actively involved in various sports. Why can't mas-wrestling be like that?
In Chuvashia, it has become a priority sport. The level of training of foreign students in mas-wrestling and the desire to continue training in their homeland entirely depends on the coaches who will help them develop their technique. In this regard, the idea of cooperation between universities arose, wh ere mas-wrestling became especially significant. Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulyanov is ready to consolidate this initiative with an agreement with the Institute of Physical Culture and Sports of the North-Eastern Federal University named after M.K. Ammosov or Churapcha State Institute of Physical Culture and Sports.
The International Mas-Wrestling Federation thanks Alexey Vladimirov, Olga Simonova, Ivan Smolentsev, Alexey Atlaskin, Dmitry Vasilyev, Alina Alekseeva from Chuvashia, Rail Bikmaev from Bashkortostan and Begench Redzhepov from the Moscow Region for their help in organizing.
