Astana. Summing up the results of the first day and the paired teams of the second
On the first day, women up to 55 kg and men competed in three categories - 65 kg, 70 kg and 80 kg.
Today, among women, Elza Abdykadyrova from Kyrgyzstan had no equal, followed by Russian Shagisultanova Leyla. Third place was shared by Courtney Hollihan from Canada and local athlete Kozhamberdyeva Takhmina. As always, Cynthia Csordas from Hungary showed enviable persistence in achieving her goal, but, unfortunately, this time she was left without the coveted medal. But we believe that everything is ahead of her.
In the weight category up to 65 kg among men, the best was Ulanbek Turgunbaev from Kyrgyzstan, second - Vladimir Burnashev from Mexico, third place went to Assylmurat Birimzhan from Kazakhstan and Purevsuren Tserentsogdol from Mongolia.
In the weight categories up to 70 kg and up to 80 kg among men, the winners were two Aysen - Migalkin and Atastyrov. And this is understandable. When the fans chanted "Aysen! Aysen!", it was impossible to lose, since Il Darkhan of the Republic Aysen Nikolaev himself was present in the hall.
In the 70 kg category, Bekmurza Toktoshev took second place, Dmitry Khizhinsky from Uzbekistan and Shaffat Ullah from Pakistan were happy with the third place.
In the 80 kg weight category, the final was excruciatingly long. It did not leave the best impression, did not become an expressive end to the first competition day. Both finalists could not start the fight and in the end, with a score of 2:0, the Yakutian won, and Eldos Aitbayev was content with "silver". The bronze medals were worn by the Slovak athlete Oliver Kurek and Assim Muhammad from Pakistan.
The award ceremony was solemn and very colorful. The award ceremony was held together with officials of the executive authorities of the Republic of Kazakhstan by the Minister of Physical Culture and Sports of Yakutia Leonid Spiridonov, the chief judge of the competition Odd Haugen, the President of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation Alexander Akimov and the Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) Sergey Mestnikov.
Tomorrow we have an even more interesting day. Just look at the list of participants by category. There will be a live broadcast again. We wish you a good viewing!
