Manuel Angulo, Chile: I invite all my friends to Santiago!

Manuel Luis Angulo Jaime. This is how beautiful the name of the Chilean giant sounds. He is really huge. And his soul is great. With his kind smile, he wins the interlocutor fr om the first moment of acquaintance.

Last weekend we met him in Rio de Janeiro, wh ere he arrived with his friend Mario Alfredo Álvarez Rosales to take part in the South American Mas-Wrestling Championships. Of course, did not want to miss such a chance to communicate with him and talk about plans for the development of mas-wrestling, because Manuel Angulo is a promoter of Yakut martial arts in Chile. He regularly holds presentation events and teaches mas-wrestling to everyone, tries to include it in complex competitions among strongmen. Let's give him the floor:

"Hola, dear friends!

My name is Manuel Angulo. I am a Chilean professional strongman. I am engaged in strength sports systematically and am progressing in my country - Chile. I trained a lot to reach the world competitive level. Yes, I was able to achieve great results in such important competitions as the World Strongest Men and the Chile Magallanes.

I have been familiar with the traditional Russian martial art - mas-wrestling since 2018. I came to this sport through Rodrigo González, an authority and leader in sports in Uruguay. Thanks to his recommendation, I represent South America in international competitions. This allowed me to become part of a large global family of mas-wrestlers.

I have participated in many prestigious mas-wrestling tournaments. For example, in the World Mas-Wrestling Cup Final in Poland, in the World Mas-Wrestling Absolute Championship in Saudi Arabia and in the World Nomad Games Mas-Wrestling Championship in Turkey. I took part in the Arnold Classic Mas-Wrestling Championship in Sao Paulo, Brazil, and yesterday I won the title of the 2024 South American Mas-Wrestling Absolute Champion in Rio de Janeiro. I am very happy that I took first place, that I was recognized as the strongest mas-wrestler in South America.

I want to express my respect to the great Brazilian athlete Ricardo Norte, whom I love very much. He is a great athlete and a wonderful person. And I would also like to thank the President of the International Mas-Wrestling Federation Mr. Akimov, for bringing together so many countries and giving us the opportunity to develop this sport at the global level. As a representative of the Chilean Mas-Wrestling Federation, I would like to invite all my friends to the Pan-American Mas-Wrestling Championship, which will be held in September 2025 in my hometown, Santiago. I thank my South American colleagues for supporting my initiative and, first of all, Vilmar Oliveira.

We'll bring together countries fr om Canada to Chile. We also invite athletes from other countries who would like to take part in this open-ended event.

As leaders and athletes of our country, we will be very happy to have the opportunity to welcome everyone and make you part of the sports family in our country.

I really hope that athletes of Canada, the United States, Mexico and the entire South American conglomerate will be happy to take part in this great event to be held in Chile in 2025. We promise that it will be a wonderful sports festival wh ere we will welcome you all with our hearts and a loving heart!”

Manuel Angulo concluded his fiery speech with his motto, which is known only to his many friends around the world: "Eagles do not catch flies!"

Chile is one of the most developed and safest countries in South America. The standard of living is the highest on the continent. What can be attractive about this country for mas-wrestlers from different countries of the world? In addition to the sports part, the host country can help organize cultural trips.

Chile is home to the Rapa Nui National Park (Easter Island) - a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Easter Island is famous for its moai - stone statues made of compressed volcanic ash. Chile has the driest desert in the world - Atacama. This is a real Mecca for astronomers from all over the world precisely because of the absence of any moisture in the atmosphere (it has not rained here for centuries), which guarantees the best view of the celestial bodies.
