Little Pharaoh with a big heart

Egyptian Ahmed is a 4th-year medical student specializing in "therapeutic medicine." He sees himself as a surgeon in the future. How do future doctors come to mas-wrestling? The hero himself will tell how he got acquainted with the Yakut sport within the walls of his university and decided to give it a try.

"My story with mas-wrestling began in 2022 when I was in a physical education class. Our teacher saw that I was doing sports excellently, approached me, and asked what sport I was engaged in. I replied that I used to practice karate in my country, but now I would like to do boxing at the university. She told me that there was no boxing section at the university, but they were getting acquainted with a new interesting sport where one could show their strength. When I said that I wanted to know what this sport was, I was introduced to a person who became my coach. His name is Alexey Atlaskin.

On March 5, 2022, I participated in my first competition - the International Mas-wrestling Tournament among students "Mas-Wrestling Universe" in Cheboksary, dedicated to the 55th anniversary of the Federal State Budgetary Educational Institution of Higher Education "Chuvash State University named after I.N. Ulyanov," where I took third place. I really liked it, and I started training a lot.

My persistent training has paid off - I have started to take first places - at the university and at the city level, in the Chuvash Republic. I have become one of the strongest in my weight category in this sport. I also participated in the World Championships twice in a row, which undoubtedly gave me invaluable experience that I began to pass on to other foreign students studying in Cheboksary.

When I tell my family about my successes, my relatives express surprise and admiration. They also really like the new sport.

I fell in love with mas-wrestling with all my heart because it is absolutely unlike any other, unusual sport. I want to achieve great success, I would like to have my own income from this, - Ahmed smiles, - and I want to become one of the first champions in this sport in my country so that my children will be proud of me in the future.

Despite his age Ahmed impresses with his independence and discipline. To the credit of our hero, after classes, he finds time to work part-time at one of the city's catering points. This allows him to fly out to mas-wrestling competitions in other countries. But the most remarkable thing is that he is doing an internship at a medical institution without pay, solely to gain more experience for future work in the chosen noble profession - to heal people.
